Called to Serve

My sweet mom entered the MTC today. She has been called to serve in the the Fiji, Suva mission. She'll be in the MTC for five days, then she will fly out on Saturday night to Fiji.
She will serve there for 18 months.
Oh, how I will miss my Mom!
We are so proud of you!

A few words of advice :0)

The Grand kids
(Tyler will be 11 when my Mom comes home!!!)

Thomas ans Chase

Sunday night my Aunt Chris and Uncle John had an open house for my Mom.
It was beautiful, and so thoughtful!

Saturday night all of us girls had one last shopping trip...as always, SO FUN!!

Friday night we all met for dinner at the Mayan.
Tyler loved the fire dancers, the divers, and making Chase laugh!

After my Mom had her farewell in Boise, we had an open house for her. Emily Janet and Brennan did a wonderful job putting it all together. It was so fun to see everyone from our old neighborhood, and it was a great way for my Mom to get to see all the people she loves before she left.

Mom, I have never been so proud of someone in my life. Your love and selflessness has always amazed me, but I am awe struck by your example now!
You are stepping way out of your comfort zone, and I know that it is not easy, but your leaving us to serve the Lord, is sealing your testimony with action, as well as with your words. Your example and testimony is truly a treasured and precious gift!
You have always taught the six of us the importance of, and the happiness found in keeping the commandments and my heart is overflowing with gratitude right now for ALL you have done for me. Thank you for all you have taught me. Thank you for all of the time you spent in helping me become who I am! You have so gently crafted me into a better version of myself! Thank you for always being there to help me and my family, and for your thoughtful and wise advice, a listening ear, and best of all a good laugh!
You are not even gone yet, and I already am fretting about how I'll miss our daily conversations, our walks, and our projects, or what I'll do when I want to call you to ask you a silly question, or when I'll need parenting advice or want to tell you a funny Thomas story or just need to talk. My heart aches for how I'll miss you, but I am always brought back to how excited I am for you and how truly proud I am of you! We've been blessed to have you all to ourselves for 30+ years, now we get to share you for the next 18 months while you serve the lucky people in Fiji!
I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!
I love you Mom!
Erin

I feel the exact same way about mom. I love her and am amazed at her strength and willingness to serve...She;s going to be great! And while she is gone we will have to make sure to get together.

Your mom is an amazing person and I know that she will be such a great asset to the people in Figi waiting for her. She raised some amazing children.
