Halloween Pillow Cases

The other day, Thomas and I were at the fabric store getting some things for his costume. We were in line to get our fabric cut when he saw this bat fabric that he could not live without. I was feeling a little creative that day so I told him that I would make a pillow case for him out of that fabric. After I said I would make one for him Thomas said that Tyler would need one too. Very thoughtful!
Thomas and I went home and had a totally enjoyable afternoon working on our project together. He loved pushing the foot peddle to make the machine go.
Now about the head bandage...
Thomas was playing at cousin Carly's house, fell and cut his open. Not bad, but when he saw the blood you would have thought that he was dying! You can actually see some blood on his shirt.
Very dramatic!!

All the way home from carpool, Thomas said to Tyler ...
"I've got a surprise for you at home"
Needless to say Tyler loved his surprise!

The Primary Program 2008

The Primary Program is my favorite Sacrament Meeting of the year. To see all of the sweet children in our ward at their "best"...hilarious!
There are so many different personalities...you've got "the wanderer"
(the kid that cannot stay seated), "the yeller" (the kid that doesn't sing the songs, but yells the words), "the show off" (the kid doing silly things just to get attention) "the perfectionist" (the articulate kid that knows his lines perfectly...the one that you secretly wish your kid could be more like during a performance!)
Our Primary Program had all of these "personalities" this year which makes for a totally entertaining hour!
Tyler and Thomas did a great job!
When Tyler was done saying his part He mouthed (well maybe with a little bit of sound) "Mom I did it!" I had tears in my eyes, because I know how hard it is for him to do. I always get emotional and can't help but think how far he has come.
Thomas was adorable! This was his first time in a Primary Program. After every song, or sometimes even during, Brad, Grandma and I would get the big Cheesy Smile, and lots of Thumbs-up! He makes my heart melt.
Great Job Boys! We Are So Proud Of You!!

Picking And Carving Our Pumpkins

Saturday we went out to Pack Farms to pick out our Pumpkins.
Thomas found the right pumpkin to create his
Scary Jack-O-Lantern.

It was so cute to see him attempt to carry his pumpkin to our wagon.

Grandma helped Tyler find his pumpkin.

Tyler, Thomas ans I went through the Hay Bale Maze.

Let the Carving Begin!

Thomas took off his shirt while cleaning out the inside of his pumpkin so he would not get the "Pumpkin Yuck" on his special Spider Shirt.
He has let several people know that ...
"These are not real spiders on my shirt...so don't be scared."

Thomas loves to do projects with Dad.

Grandma ans Tyler carved his pumpkin together. Tyler cut all around the top, and Grandma carved out a ghost.
The silly faced pumpkin is my creation.

Thomas wanted to create his own Scary Face to carve into his pumpkin, instead of using the sticker decals that we were putting on our pumpkins.
So, he asked Grandma to draw this face. He colored it and then cut it out and taped it to the front of his pumpkin. Then he and I carved it together.

Great Job Thomas. That is the SCARIEST Pumpkin that I have ever seen!

Witches Night Out!

Last night was Gardner Village's annual Witches Night Out!
We go out to dinner and then shopping at Gardner Village.
Everyone dresses up in a witch costume and heads out for one of the most fun girls nights of the year!

My Mom and I went with my sister, Courtney, and her husbands family, our good friends, the Browns.

Gardner Village does an amazing job of decking the place out in everything WITCH!!

These mechanical witches are my favorite. They are all over.

My favorite shop there is the White Shoppe. I also love the Village Quilt Shop. I usually get a quilt there every year. Last night was no different. I found a beautiful all white quilted throw.
I also have the tradition of getting four Christmas ornaments that I give my boys on Christmas Eve. I get ornaments that I am able to write on that back all the great things each person has accomplished that year.

Halloween Party 2008!!!

Every year we have our neighborhood friends over for a Halloween Party!

Thomas is Buzz Lightyear this year for Halloween.

My sister in law, Jenny, made these amazing Halloween decorations!

All of the kids decorated Halloween bags to catch the candy from the piniata.

Jenny read a couple of spooky stories to the kids before lunch.

Thanks to everyone for contributing to our delicious lunch! We had five different soups, hot rolls, crisp apples, spiced cider, and hot chocolate.

911

Me and My Mischievous Thomas

Yesterday, Thomas sat by me on the couch and said "Mom...911 calls the Mystery Machine (A Scooby Doo reference. He is a huge Scooby Doo fan!) I was a little puzzled! Then my mommy senses went off and I ,with shock and a little anger, asked if he called 911 AGAIN???
You see this would not be his first offence...he has done this a couple of times in the last month or so. A puppy eyed Thomas looked up at me and said " Yes Mommy. I sorry, I wont do it again." "Thomas I said 911 is only for emergencies, like if our house is on fire, or Tyler is REALLY hurt, or if Mommy is lying on the ground and cannot talk to you, THEN it is OK to call 911". You see since Thomas has already done this a couple of times, I know that 911 calls you back to see if everything is OK in your home. But this time no call. I didn't think anything of it so I settled back in on the couch getting caught up on Survivor that I had Tivo-ed last week, when out of the corner of my eye I saw two police men walking across my lawn. Thomas saw it too and his eyes lit up. "I don't want them to take me to jail Mommy! I don't want to go with them." I didn't respond to Thomas. I thought the natural consequences that were going to happen the next few moments would teach him soooooo much more than I could. I got off of the couch and opened the door. Thomas' little body clung to the back of my leg. He peered out from behind me to see the big policemen. "Hello Mam" said one of the police officers "is everything alright?" "Yes" I answered " I just have a little 4 year old who wanted to call Scooby Doo." Thomas came out and shook their hands and said "I'll never do it again. I'm sorry... I promise...I'm so sorry. I just wanted to call the Mystery Machine. I don't want to go to jail." The two Police men got a chuckle out of his apology. Needless to say, Thomas is not in jail, and I don't think he'll be calling Scooby Doo any more!

Larry's Retirement Party

The Federal Courts gave the most poinient tribute to my father in law.
Brad, the boys and I went to Boise to celebrate his years of service on the Federal Bench and the Idaho Supreme Court.
Brad was one of the keynote speakers. I know it truly was a honor for him to represent the Boyle Family. Brads tribute was so heartfelt and articulate. I am so proud of what an amazing job Brad did!

My Mom, Alice was there represent our family in honoring Larry.

The Tribute was held in his court room.

My Boys and Grandma Bev.

Autumn Fun at the Corn Maze

We went with the our family to a Corn Maze in Meridian while we were in Boise.
I love all of the fun things to do in Autumn!

There was a huge Corn Box instead of a sand box. It was so cool!
Tyler could have played there for hours on end!

This is Thomas with cousin Katie.

The rest of the Boyle Family.
